The Soliloquy of an Artist

LAKE  FRONT   N O S T A L G I A

Nostalgic .. Reminiscence ... Memorable ...
Away from the haste of the metropolis.... near the whistling lake breeze.

These are the sentiments of a retired businessman client wanting to set-foot on a quite village facing the lake ..Laguna by the Bay.

Designed in all Wood - raw and fresh interiors.... with Balcony open to garden suits a graceful  and healthy living . An ambiance to a restful heart , opposite to the tantrums of  a busy Executive.

The Residence is designed with moderate steps going up the Family bedrooms and goes down to Dining Room and Living Room enabling a separation of spaces and granting individual serenity within the household.

Vastness, clean lines, wide windows, earth colors, cool blue and accents of oranges dots the interiors.

State of the art bathroom design and fixtures, done with full height mirrors makes the Bathrooms a slight transistion of a personal space to a service area.

BLACK and BEIGE enables a SOLID and VOID effect on each wall, PACIFIES  mind setting, welcomes CALMNESS and SIMPLICITY.

The Dining Area is in high-ceiling with slim droplights for a mysterious  verticality effect in delicately chosen  FRESH WOOD Finishing scheme.  This  is Grandeur in a Minimalistic Form.

The White Gem at Hillsborough

You will be amazed at the grandeur of this Whitehouse at Hillsborough Village, Alabang. Along the Buckingham Road,  a White Gem is seen glittering from among the row of highly-completed residential in that exclusive village. It was in here where RCLA MARU ARCHITECTS CO, started its journey to an acclaimed DESIGN-BUILD PROJECTS of  High-End Residential Buildings.

Called by the neighbors  as the  “whitehouse” in Hillsborough, it is all immaculately  WHITE really for the purpose of defining the building envelop from the loose provisions of its interiors. It has a half winding stair sitting in an elephant white marble curtail step and done with black iron works supporting narra wooden railing religiously crafted by RCLA MARU vintage carpenters.

The company had maximized all efforts to source narra from the Province of Quezon to provide reliable and genuine material for the Railing and steps of the stairs and the floors.

Wide Porcelain Tiles at 0.90m x 0.90m imported from India were painstakingly
installed in close-joint creating infinity on the floor area.

Soid and Void principle was displayed on the partition to create transparency of the stair well to the second floor.  Open Plan had given value and attention to the half winding stair and wide full floor to ceiling “door-window” truly the character of RCLA MARU in designing fenestrations.

RCLA MARU ARCHITECTS CO. fenestration designs usually maximize natural light  by having a "Door-Window"  floor to door height opening. Sliding glass door highly resistant to extreme wind velocity were provided thru  tempered glass in PVC Frame.

A Lanai keeps peace and meditation comfortable at the rear of the house made greener by hanging plants. Pavement blocks catered to green-effect instead of full concreted area.

The second floor has THREE BIG BEDROOMS boasting its “he” and “she” Walk-in closet and Comfort Rooms at the Master’s Bedroom. Top-of-the-line bath tubs were provided to match with the pleasurable looking bathroom accessories. Awning windows made the rooms flexible to natural air and light yet can be totally close when air conditioning. is turned on.

At the corners of the structure where bedrooms are located,  door-height openings were provided making the  rooms appear wide and spacious. Narra planks on the flooring all over the second floor.

Elegant top of the line bath tubs  refreshes the Bath rooms. It is made near to  nature-feeling with full height windows ... just welcoming the outside gardens to the inside.

The over-all massing of the House is made magnificent due to the effect of the louvers at the ATTIC. This air conditioned spacious attic space if being use as GYM and personal area for the head of the family.

The view at night of the Residence is a simple Contrast of Solid and Void.

A piano from a corner of the elegantly planned Living Room tuned the residence in to the harmony and tranquility each individual Home Owner deserves. Blue Asphalt Shingles roofing crowns the immaculate white structure craeting an outstanding effect at a distance.

Full height " Door-Window" openings line the whole stretch of the side of the Residence. Just a curtain away from the open area garden. With this outstanding DESIGN-BUILD PROJECTS, ........one can say.....KUDOS to RCLA MARU ARCHITECTS CO.

WAREHOUSE and RESIDENCE - DUO in ONE Architect's Composition

The Design and Construction Project done by RCLA MARU ARCHITECTS CO.
in Calapan  City , Oriental Mindoro , Philippines

It was a RESIDENTIAL and WAREHOUSE very much custom-designed to fit a unique concept . It is a reflective of a company's concern for a Green Environment. The Residential shows planters on horizontal ledges screening the vision with "green" while incorporating natural light and fresh air to the interior. It is a truly a fine dining experience in a home away from home for the employees and owner of the company. I was fascinated with that  " round " opening on the wall of that dining area, later i know when i peep on it,
it is like a telescopecatching sunset views on the Mindoro afternoon sky.
The owner said - it shows the Logo of the company.

It was not just an ordinary Residence, it was a condo-type living offered by the rooms designed with its own Toilet and Bath and Kitchenette to accommodate independent living for SCPA employee group excursions or team building since the Mindoro Branch of SCPA is in a tourist destination. It may serve as a vacation accommodation for the company’s employees from Metro Manila.

A good space for Laundry and  Drying ledge were provided on the second floor while an easy-to-maintain garden at the ground floor offers a nice sitting area.

The bedroom windows has mini-balcony ledges extended provided with tubular barriers that accents the facade while a door-window opening was done with a sliding glass in
aluminum frame exposing the wide vision of the area. Truly, when you are inside the residence, you will not feel there is a Warehouse adjacent to it.

The big warehouse painted with off-white and green looks like not a warehouse in its industrial/commercial category. It was designed to harmonize with the residential. The warehouse was provided with soft and lightweight sliding door that looks sturdy and heavy yet it is light and strong.

Where in a warehouse interior you can see uniformity of baseboard painted walls and ambience in the office which is located inside the warehouse. Such office is provided with Pantry area and a hotel standard Comfort Room.

the concept of Concrete Ventilation Blocks with Glass Blocks function as air and light ventilations. Its transparency is magical when seen from inside the warehouse.

The whole compound is laced with beautifully designed fence with lightings on every post that creates a brightly lighted spot of this " jewel "in the  Village.

The previously, swampy area in that corner of Sta. Maria and Pachoca Village, Calapan City is now a Residential/Commercial Area done in a nice concept  embracing its Green Design and  Social Responsibility to the Community and the Industry as a whole.
